Tetroxy 10% Injectable Solution

Active Ingredient:

  • Oxytetracycline hydrochloride 100 mg/mL (10% w/v) 

Formulation:

  • Sterile injectable solution for intramuscular use in livestock

Target Species:

  • Cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs


Indications & Activity

  • Treats infections by oxytetracycline-sensitive organisms of the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urogenital tracts

  • Effective against a broad range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Mycoplasma spp., Rickettsiae, Chlamydia, and some protozoa

  • Used for secondary infections, e.g., pneumonia and navel-ill in calves and pigs

Dosage & Administration

  • Use sterile technique, rotate injection sites if volume > 10–20 mL

  • Bacteriostatic action: binds the 30S ribosomal subunit to inhibit protein synthesis

  • Broad spectrum: active against many bacterial classes, including Pneumonia, pinkeye, foot rot, enteritis, and leptospirosis

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • Injection site swelling and transient dark urine (hemoglobinuria) can occur

  • May interfere with bone and tooth development in young animals; avoid in pregnant and early lactating stock unless necessary

  • Avoid mixing with penicillins, cephalosporins, or divalent/cationic products due to possible antagonism or chelation

  • Comply with national antimicrobial usage guidelines to prevent resistance
